Make Up Your Mind

I wrote this for my best friend, so she would feel heard

everyone has breakups that take a while to get over, and it often feels like closure takes forever. I wanted her to be able to dance through all that confusion.

Love ME When I Don’t

It's hard expressing your needs, especially when you're depressed and anxious

This song is me, trying very hard to do so.

Saints+MArtyrs

I remember the day I wrote this song quite vividly.

Quarantine had just been put into effect, and I was going through a very depressive episode. I went out onto the balcony to cry. Andrew noticed and tried to be there for me, but I just couldn’t let him anywhere near me. I hated him seeing me like this. Then it hit. This lyric just kept coming to me. So I forced myself to start typing into my notes app. In the next 15 min I was looking at a song. A song that said exactly what I wanted to say for so many years.

It was intimate. It was brutal. It was honest. It was me. I had found MY sound.

ALONE RIGHT NOW

writing this song helped me put a danceable beat to that pain I felt inside and saw outside.

When I wrote this track, I was looking at a world that was going through quite a lot. It wasn't a great place to be. But writing this song helped me put a danceable beat to that pain I felt inside and saw outside. Sometimes, in order to move forward, you have to give yourself a moment to dance it out. And hopefully, that dancing will lead to some serotonin-production, and finally some action.

Every dollar of sale of this track on July 4th weekend was donated to Vote Riders. Vote Riders is a national nonpartisan, nonprofit organization providing free information and help to voters to make sure they have the right kind of ID to vote in their state. With their help, people across the nation can navigate their state's Voter ID laws and ensure their right to vote.

Love, Sweat & Fears

Written, performed, and produced by Maria Tuadi, the Love, Sweat and Fears EP is an exploration of contemporary RnB and Soul singing, narrated by an Indonesian-American girl raised in SoCal. The EP features the single, "Still", a Session I 2016 Grand Prize Winner and Lennon Award Winner in the R&B Category of The John Lennon Songwriting Contest! Tuadi’s latest single, “Always” is the title track of her Asians on Film Festival Best Original Score Award-winning short film of the same name.

Call Your Girlfriend

I wanted to humanize the girlfriend

After hearing Robyn perform "Call Your Girlfriend" on SNL, I knew I wanted to do something with it. I wanted to flip it on its head, and hear the other woman's words come out of the girlfriend's mouth as she confronts her boyfriend. I wanted to humanize the girlfriend, and have her unleash the lyrics onto the listener. I wanted her to have a voice. So, I thought of my version of "Call Your Girlfriend" as the continuation of Robyn's story--the never-before-heard epilogue of the girl who got burned. The result was the transformation of a dance classic into a soulful contemporary RnB ballad. I hope it gives you the same feels I had while recording it!"
